priorities in admission
The following priorities shall be followed in
granting admissions.
(a)
In Kendriya Vidyalayas under Civil/Defence Sector -
(i)
Children of transferable Central Government employees
including ex-servicemen.
(ii) Children of non-transferable Central Government employees
including ex-servicemen.
(iii)Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of
autonomous bodies/Public Sector Undertakings/Institute of Higher
Learning of the Government of
India.
(iv)Children of transferable State Government Employees.
(v) Children of Non-transferable employees of State Government.
(vi)
Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of
autonomous bodies/Public Sector Undertakings/Institute of Higher
Learning of the State Governments.
(vii)Children from any other category.
(b)
Kendriya Vidyalayas under Public
Sector Undertakings/Institute of Higher Learning:
(i) Children of employees of the Undertakings/Institute of
Higher Learning which finances the Kendriya Vidyalayas fully;
(ii)The priorities given for Kendriya Vidyalayas under Civil/Defence
Sector will follow in the same sequence, thereafter.
Method of admission.
(a)
For Class I
-No admission test would be conducted for admission to class I. All
applications received would be divided into the 7 categories in order of
priority as laid down in para 3 above. Each list would be taken up for admission in
order of priority to the extent vacancies are available. When a stage is
reached that the list of one category cannot be fully accommodated for
admission, The following procedure shall be accepted:
(i)
If the list is of children of category I, short listing for
admissions would be done on the basis of number of transfers of the parents
during the last 7 years. The children, whose parents have been transferred
more number of times would get preference over children, whose parents have
been transferred less number of times.
(ii) IF CHILDREN OF TRANSFERABLE Central GOVT. EMPLOYEES
FALL IN CATEGORY II LIKE IN PROJECT SECTOR KVs, SHORT LISTING FOR ADMISSION IN
CLASS I WILL BE DONE ON THE BASIS OF THE NUMBER OF TRANSFERS OF THE PARENTS
DURING THE LAST 07 YEARS FOR THE SAID CATEGORY.
If the list is of any CATEGORY other THEN category I & II ABOVE, the names of
all children of that category would BE WRITTEN ON SMALL SLIPS OF PAPER
SEPARATELY AND PLACED IN A BOX AFTER SUITABLE FOLDING THE SLIPS. CHILDREN FROM
THIS CATEGORY WOULD BE SELECTED BY A DRAW OF lot from the slips so placed in
this box. For transparency, this draw of lot
should be done in the presence of the concerned parents to the extent
feasible.
(B) CLASS II AND ABOVE Except CLASS XI-FOR
ADMISSION TO THESE CLASSES, AN ADMISSION TEST WOULD BE CONDUCTED AND A MERIT
LIST PREPARED FOR EACH CATEGORY OF PRIORITY SEPARATELY. ADMISSION WOULD BE
GIVEN IN ORDER OF MERIT GOING BY THE SEQUENCE OF THE CATEGORIES AS PRIORITIZED
IN PARA 3.
(c)
Candidates securing less than 35% marks in each subject and
less than 40% marks in aggregate would not be eligible for admission
irrespective of their category in the priority.
(D)
An admission test would be conducted in the following subjects
:-
(i)
Primary classes (except class I) - English, Hindi & Maths.
(ii)
Middle classes - Hindi, English, Maths & General Knowledge
(iii)
Secondary classes - Hindi, English, Maths, Social Studies and
Science.
(e)
Principals may admit children in Class XI over and above the
class strength who have secured 80% or more marks in class X examination
irrespective of their category / BOARD up to the class strength of 50 in each
section. no admission will normally be allowed in class x and xii. admission
in class x and xii may be considered by assistanT commissioners of the region
concerned subject to the children fulfilling the following condition :
(1) the vacancies are available.
(2) the parent has been transferred to the station where
the admission is sought in the same academic seSSION. however, if the average
strength in class x and xii remain below 40 till the last week of July,
children passing ix and xi from cbse AFFILIATED SCHOOLS OF THE STATION MAY BE
ADMITTED IF THEY FULFIL OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITION.
(3) the child has been in the same course of studies
i.e. in a cbse affiliated school.
(4) the child must have obtained not less then 50% marks
in class ix and xi examination.
(5) the child should be eligible as per kvs admission
guidelines.
(6) the combination of subjects are available in
kendriya vidyalayas.
Reservations
(a)
15% seats for Scheduled Caste and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes
would be reserved in all fresh admissions.
(b)
3% seats will be horizontally reserved for handicapped children
- blind, orthopaedic ally handicapped and hearing impaired etc. Horizontal
reservation would mean that 3% OF 15% would be reserved for handicapped
children of the SC., 3% of 7.5% would be reserved for handicapped children of
ST and 3% of 77.5% would be reserved for handicapped children of general
categories.
(c)
In case any of these quotas remain unfilled, the seats would be
filled up by admitting children of respective category corresponding to the
provision (a) and (b) above and in case of non-availability of reserved
category of candidates by any other category.
Special provisions :
The following special provisions will be operative for
admission -
(A) FOLLOWING CATEGORIES OF CHILDREN WOULD BE ADMITTED OVER
AND ABOVE THE CLASS STRENGTH:
(I)
The children and dependent grand children of Hon’ble Members of
Parliament.
(II) children and grand children of serving and retired KVS
employees. THIS INCLUDES GRAND CHILDREN FROM THE SIDE OF THE SON AS WELL AS
DAUGHTER.
(III) children of Central Government employees who die in
harness.
(IV) CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN OF SERVING EMPLOYEES OF
PUBLIC SECTOR UNDERTAKINGS IN PROJECT SCHOOLS SPONSORED BY CONCERNED PSU.
(V) CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN OF SERVING EMPLOYEES IN THE
INSTITUTES OF HIGHER LEARNING PROVIDED THESE INSTITUTES BEAR THE RECURRING AND
NON-RECURRING EXPENSES LIKE THE PSUS.
(b) 100
children of employees of the Ministry of HRD would be admitted every year and
above the class strength. as per orders issued by the KVS (HQ).
(c) 60 admissions in kendriya vidyalayas located in delhi
and 15 children in hostels in kendriya vidyalayas located outside Delhi of
employees of the Ministry of External Affairs would be admitted each year on
orders issued by kvs (hq) over and above the class strength. these would be
subject of the following conditions for the two categories -
( i ) 60 admissions in kendriya vidyalayas located in Delhi
would be utilized exclusively for children returning from abroad along with
there parents after their posting. seats under these provisionS remaining
unutilized at the time of
normal
admissions will remain as such and will be utilized for children who return TO
India after the beginning of the academic session and up to half yearly
examination of the kvS would be considered for admission at the beginning of
the subsequent academic year. all these admissions will be subject to the
condition that not more then 5 children would be admitted in one school in an
year and that the children would be submitting a transfer certificate of a
school abroad, in which they had been studying prior to seeking admission in a
kv.
(ii) 15 seats for admission in hostels in kendriya
vidyalayas outside delhi would be limited only to the children whose parents
are going abroad on a posting to station which does not have adequate
educational facilities. the required information in this respect would need to
be given by the ministry of external affairs.
(d)
15 children of the employees of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) would be
admitted over and above the class strength on orders to be issued by the KVS
HQrs. Of these, a maximum of 5 seats would be given in Delhi and the
remaining would be outside Delhi.
(e) 10
seats in each section of class I and 10 seats in all other classes put
together will be reserved every year for children of the sponsoring agency in
all schools except those specifically notified otherwise by the Commissioner.
In Civil Sector Schools, sponsored by the State Government, the children of
State Government Employees would come under this provision. Admission to
Class I would be within the approved strength of the section while for the
remaining classes it would be allowed over and above the approved class
strength subject to a maximum of two in A section.
(f)
Two children IN TOTAL would be admitted at the discretion of
the Chairman, VMC each year over and above the class strength in any class
except in class X & XII, if otherwise found eligible. THESE TWO ADMISSIONS
MAY BE DONE IN ONE CLASS OR ALL CLASSES PUT TOGETHER EXCEPT CLASS X AND XII.
(g)
The Commissioner has been authorized by Board of Governors in
its meeting held on 27.1.97 to admit 25 children in sports hostels run by KVS
over and above class strength provided the child has represented in his
state/UT of India.
(H) THE COMMISSIONER HAS BEEN AUTHORISED BY BOG IN ITS 63RD
MEETING HELD ON 21.07.1998 THAT THE WARD OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES
INCLUDING DEFENCE AND PARA MILITARY FORCES WHO COULD NOT GET ADMISSION TO A KV
DUE TO:
-THERE POSTING TO A PLACE WHERE KV DOES NOT
EXIST WITH IN A DISTANCE OF 20 KMS..
-THERE POSTING ABROAD WHERE THERE IS NO KV AND
THE CHILDREN HAD TO SEEK ADMISSION IN SOME OTHER SCHOOLS, THOUGH THEY ARE
STUDYING IN KV BEFORE THEIR PARENTS TRANSFER.
-THE WARDS OF DEFENCE EMPLOYEES WERE NOT
TRANSFERED BECAUSE OF THE EXGENCIES OF SERVICE DUE TO SPECILISED MILITARY
DISCIPLINES OR ISOLATED MILITARY STATIONS.
Class strength
(a)
Fresh admissions can be done in each section of each class up
to 40. In respect of Kendriya Vidyalayas in North Eastern Region, hard
stations and declared locations, such admissions would be done up to 31ST OF
JULY. AFTER A WAITING PERIOD OF 10 DAYS, 05 MORE STUDENTS COULD BE ADMITTED IN
EACH SECTION / CLASS BETWEEN 10TH AUGUST TO 30TH SEPTEMBER PROVIDED SUCH
CANDIDATES ARE THE WARDS OF CENTRAL GOVT. EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ACTUALLY
TRANSFERRED DURING THE PARTICULAR ACADEMIC SESSION. ALL SUCH ADMISSION IN KV
AFTER 31ST JULY (I.E. BETWEEN 10TH AUGUST AND 30TH SEPTEMBER) SHALL BE WITH
THE APPROVAL OF THE CHAIRMAN, VMC.
(b) STUDENTS
ALREADY ADMITTED IN IIND SHIFTS CAN SWITCH OVER TO IST SHIFT WITH THE APPROVAL
OF VMC. THE VMC, BEFORE GRANTING APPROVAL, MUST EXAMIN THE MERIT OF EACH CASE
PROVIDED THE ENROLMENT IN EACH SECTION / STREAM OF THE KV DOES NOT VIOLET THE
PRECRIBED NORMS.
